Yelson Flores – Gracie Barra – Sucre – Bolivia

In Tarija, a guy gave me the contact of Yelson who is the bjj professor of Gracie Barra in Sucre. I went to this pretty city to train there and he let me give the classes. Sucre is at 2810m of altitude and during some positions (especially on bottom) I started to feel the lack of oxygen. It was impressive, it was like claustrophobia. I went to a bad position, I tapout and I continued to roll.

Yelson is really concerned about women self-defense. On Saturday, he was invited in a tv show (“cosa de chicas”) for a local channel of an university of Sucre. We went there with him and two girls of the team. He explained why self-defense is important for women and we showed 3 technics : escape from the mount, triangle and a projection with armbar at the end. It was a good experience.
